Born in Cleveland, Ohio. Attended Ohio State University, veteran of WWI. Active supporter of OSU athletics and Columbus professional baseball.
Castco built thousands of homes, apartment projects and industrial/commercial buildings throughout the U.S. Ideas spawned the era of contemporary shopping centers. Developed the first regional shopping center (Town and Country) in the world. Also developed centers on the Mallway and on West First Avenue. A visionary for the future of aviation in Columbus, served on the original Columbus Airport Commission. Innovations helped the development of Port Columbus Airport.
Married for 42 years to wife, Ruth. Lived in Upper Arlington for 34 years.
A very charitable, generous man who gave of himself and his family, his community and his nation.
