Livingston Seed Company & Its Ties to UA - HistorySpeaks 2020 Event

Learn about the fascinating history of the Livingston Seed Company, founded in 1850, and its connection to Upper Arlington. Founder Alexander Livingston fine-tuned the tomato into the fruit we know and love today.

The event is hosted by First Community Village via Zoom. The historic Miller Ice House, an original Miller Farm structure from the 1800s, on the grounds of First Community Village. James T. Miller sold 840 acres of his farm to King and Ben Thompson in 1913 so the brothers could develop Upper Arlington. Learn more about the Miller Farm and family, including the Miller daughters – collectively known as “The Aunties” – who one hundred years ago hosted ice cream parties at the Ice House for the early Upper Arlington residents.
